Last week, I told you guys that I was heading to BlogHer12. This would be my 1st large blog conference, in addition it’s in New York City. NYC is the capital of fashion and I am scared that my Chi-Town fashion might not cut it in the Big Apple. I have read many tips about preparing for BlogHer and one tip that I have come across many times is . . . . “Don’t purchase new items for BlogHer”! I understood the reasoning behind the tip. However, while the bloggers at the conference many not know what I wear daily, I know what I wear and I know that I need a change.
Like many bloggers I have been stalking the #BlogHer12 hashtag on Twitter for updates, party info, and seeing whose going to NYC in August. Last week on my daily stalk I stumbled upon this tweet.
When I saw the tweet, I immediately opened up the link and read what Windows was offering. Windows is offering a style makeover to BlogHer attendees. At that very moment I knew I was going to nominate myself. While I like to think that I am a hip mom with style; I know that my daughter has more style then I do. She is a mini diva that goes to the beauty shop once a month for a good shampoo and condition treatment. When you see her out with either my mom or I, she has some sort of gadget with her. Her favorite is my tablet. It’ amazes me that she knows how to work it better than I do. When she is not at a beauty shop, she is getting her hair braided to save me time in the morning. Her closet has all of the latest fashion styles and her shoes are on point. {LOL} I would like to be a diva just like her, and embrace my young fashion knowledge. Check out my daughter and her cute diva like fashion:
I know that I purchase these items for her and make sure that she is “on point”. I on the other hand forget about myself. I have been told that I am fashionable, but on the inside I do not agree. I have created a Pinterest board called “My Style”, and nothing on my board is in my closet. There is something about what you like and what you choose once you are in the store; for me they never go hand and hand.
With that being said I am officially announcing that I’m entering the “Microsoft Windows Style Makeover Sweepstakes” for a chance to win a head to toe makeover.
I desperately need this makeover. I have looked the same all my life, have similar items in my closet and never really jumped on the “fashion train”. I skipped and hopped on the “OMG, that cost so much train”. For my head to toe make over I would either want a short cute hair cut or a long wavy weave. I never had short hair or a weave but I am over due for a new hair style. I have been wearing the same hair style for years. I wore it in elementary school, high school, college and now my adult years. My signature hair style is hair down with a light curl on the ends with a part on the side or middle. Let’s take a look at a few pictures:
If I could choose one celebrity to look like it would be Amber Riley! I think she is an attractive, cute curvy girl who holds her head up with confidence next to all of the skinny women in Hollywood. If I win this makeover, I would love to rock a few of the styles that she has done in the past.
Windows, thanks in advance for your consideration. I appreciate this contest and I am sure other bloggers appreciate it also. Have a heart and choose me for the Microsoft Windows Style Makeover.
