My Motorola Xyboard Helps me Save on Groceries #VZWSS

For that last month my life has been super busy with my 9-5 that I haven’t really been grocery shopping.  Living off of my stockpile has been good, but one item that we can’t keep in the stockpile for a long time is fruit.  Fruit during the summer months in Chicagois a must.  There are so many produce stores here; it’s hard to stay within my $10 weekly fruit budget without having to drive to each store in Chicago.

However, my Motorola Xybord from Verizon has helped me stick to my $10 budget and save on gas.   Now I know you want to know how a tablet can do that.  Well, a few weeks ago, I downloaded a new to me app called “Weekly Ads & Sales”. The Weekly Ads & Sales app has over 96,000 stores for 100+ major retailer’s ads available on their app and accessible in seconds.

While some produce stores such as Pete’s Fresh Market have low prices, Aldi’s have even lower prices.  The Weekly Ads & Sale app allows me to search for any store in my area. Each week I search and see who has the lowest cost produce, once I figure that out I head over to either Super Target {If I am in that area.} or Walmart.  Both stores allow me to price match. Walmart states that you do not need the sale ad to price match, but as a couponer, we know it is better to be safe then sorry.  Over at Target you need the ad to price match.

Check out my photos from my price matching journey:

Save-A-Lot Ad

$1.78 at Walmart $.88 at Save-A-Lot = Price Match

$2.98 Walmart Price $1.00 Save-A-Lot Price

$1.09 Walmart ~ $.99 at Aldi's

When you get a chance checkout the Weekly Ads & Sale App download it and see how much money you can save by using your tablet at the grocery store.

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Midwest Savvy Savers program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

I’m downloading the app now…thanks for the suggestion! (FYI to others – its available for the iPhone, too.) LOVE apps like that! Do you know of the ShopSavvy app? It allows you to scan a bar code with your phone and automatically search online and area stores for that item (clothing, electronics, etc. though it may work with food, not sure) and what they’re selling it for!

Hi there – I’m looking for women whose tablets save them money. Can I quote you in a story All You is running about how tablets can save you? I’d love to use your quote about price matching with the Weekly Ad and Sales app. It’s an amazing tip that will thrill our readers! I would just need your photo and age as of 12/16, and where you live. Thanks!
