Vote to Ensure the Community is Always Put First

If you are a reader of my blog, you know that my passion outside of helping people save money is working with youth, I am a former Special Education and GED teacher who still works in social services. I currently work as a Youth Development Manager of a youth program with kids that lives in public housing. My work via this blog as well in my 9 to 5 means so much to me. The work that I do helps others move towards self-sufficiency and I am glad to be a part of that change.

However, for the lat two years it has been hard for me as well as others who work in social services to provide the much-needed services due to Illinois still not having an approved budget. No budget equal no pay for providers. No pay for providers equal no services to the community. While the 2016 election is not about the IL Governor, we do have some say in who will control the cash that IL does have. Back in 2014, Judy Baar Topinka passed away and Leslie Munger was sworn in as Illinois State Comptroller on January 12, 2015.

Since being sworn in, IL Comptroller Leslie Munger made sure childcare providers got their checks before the politicians to keep daycare’s open. And when Lisa Madigan tried to block to state workers from getting paid, it was comptroller Leslie Munger who sued her to get their paychecks back. Life in IL can be greater for all with an approved budget and someone in the Comptroller office who care about the little people.  In less than two short years Munger has made an impact in the lives of many Illinois families who have been disappointed by the Illinois General Assembly. Given a four year term, she will have the capacity to continue her quest to ensure that the most vulnerable of our community are a top priority within the Comptroller’s office”

Next week, we all have an opportunity to spark change in our communities. The 2016 Election is upon us and as a citizen, we must all vote to see some changes go on in our communities. You can split the ticket! Vote for IL Comptroller Leslie Munger. Learn why her opponent has never been our friend go here to see why.
